Yule: A Celebration of Light and Warmth (http://www.amazon.com/Yule-Celebration-Warmth-Dorothy-Morrison/dp/1567184960/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1225921344&sr=8-1)
Anyone else have this book?
JuJu and I own a copy (have for 6 years) and have either made just about everything in it. I thin kit's a great book and I start reading it about this time of year to help me get into the season. There is a section in the back that I enjoy: Chapter 18 Daily Event Calendar. This chapter is great because it mentions little events you can do every day of the month of December. If you have children it's great because it involves them. Some like make a list of their accomplishments so that on Dec 2nd St. Nick can sneak in and see if they have been good (he returns on St. Nicholas day and gives treats and candies). But anyways I recommend this book to anyone who is pagan, and if you aren't I'd pick it up, it will help expand your knowledge on the holiday season.
I will say this, the reviews on amazon are just, there are a few bits of misinformation in it.

The winter solstice on Dec. 22 is marked by a festival which recognizes that the seeds are hidding beneath the surface of the ground and appear to be dead and buried.. then alive again they begin to stir, although their 'coming to life' is not yet apparent.
The Festival of Rebirhting. Meadows.
Also the darkest day of the year, we are now traveling into the darkness.
Through the darkness the light will return once more, new light, new life.
So it goes Jesus is of the light.

Mistletoe is a vineny plant, and is the only thing green, (alive) on this Solstice.
So it goes Mistletoe is of the Light.

What about the tree, isn't it also green?
So it goes...TreeLove of the Light.
