Good starting point on Obama Green Recovery

The Center for American Progress, a Washington think tank headed by John Podesta, former Chief of Staff to U.S. President Bill Clinton, published a report by entitled "Green Recovery: A New Program to Create Good Jobs and Start Building a Low-Carbon Economy." It was suggested at the time that the report may serve as a road map for the next U.S. President. Podesta now heads President-Elect Obama’s transition team. As such, it may be instructive to review its contents as a guide to the Obama Administration’s energy policy.

I would love to see this become a reality, the connections are encouraging.

but why in the world is Obama trying to bail out the auto industry!!!

the reality of it has already started.
in Europe it's not just the name of a political party.
solar, wind & tidal power stations & facilities have been built and are online.
and they are continuing to build.

meanwhile, back the States, many of our 'leaders'
still think 'solar' means water heater technology from the 1960's!?

we have, fortunately, a new leader who knows the difference,
understands the need for it and
has the support of the 'hippies' (baby boomers?) & their grand kids.

the automakers are, unfortunately,
a big chunk of in-country manufacturing capability and are a pivotal industry.
transportation of people and products depend on the varied vehicles that come out of 'Detroit'.

however, i believe that Mr. Obama is not considering a bailout, but a loan WITH CONDITIONS.

perhaps they could be 'asked' to stop opposing the California emmission standards;
vigorously & 'voluntarily' implement higher MPG/lower emmission standards;
promote alternative fuel vehicles and produce plug-in electric cars.
the list goes on.
