My hubby's G~pa is going thru the same thing. And every freaking morning, the man eats bacon and eggs. We have talked to him about the turkey bacon as a better choice if he HAS to have bacon. He won't have anything to do with it. He wants his junk. I wish I had something better to say. I think the most important thing is to remind him on a constant basis how much you love him, and how much you need him in your life. We do the same thing. My heart goes out to you and yours :) ;)
Peace...

Perhaps while after doing that try to subtly suggest that maybe he could eat less bacon and an alternative to bacon?

he wont give it up...and the last thing anyone really wants to do is put him on a strict diet because of his fragile condition. he needs all the nutrition he can get. i was just hoping that someone might know of an herbal method to perhaps lower his cholesterol or boost his metabolism a bit.

thanks for your support luvingmama... this really is hard, and its nice to know that someone can empathize.

at this point, with his detiorating health, any substance designed to aid in weight loss is probably not a good idea. a healthy diet is probably the best thing you can do for him at this point. i hope you and your family get him to take your concerns seriously. i cant imagine how difficult this must be for you. my heart sincerly goes out to you and your family. i wish your grandfather the best.
