I was listening you my local community radio station today and was hearing talk of this bailout. What the person was saying basically is that they have already given away billions without any oversight. The bailout money was meant to give banks liquid capitol to loan businesses to they can expand, buy inventory, hire personnel, etc. So what has happened is the financial institutions are paying share holders dividends, giving bonuses and having parties, basically, fiddling while Rome is burning. The kicker is, if they knew the bailouts would have no effect because the money won't go where it's needed anyways. It would have disastrous repercussions on Wall st. No one wants to blow the whistle because nobody wants to be the one responsible for the Great Depression of 2008. That was the best that I could remember. Troubling indeed.

That's what the consrevatives in congress were saying all along but nobody wanted to hear it. The media only wanted to report the liberal propaganda. The 5th estate has been coopted by the big money thieves.

Its so funny. It's President Bush's bill, his plan. Actually his train wreck. Check the votes on the bill it's not one sided.:D And I seriously doubt that these Wall st. crooks are tree hugging liberals. I don't really get it. The conservative pundits are already calling this the "Obama recession". It's like investigating a big nasty accident; to some, it is obvious by the way the cars are laying who was at fault. Some however want to blame the tow truck driver who has come to clean up the mess.;)

Thats kinda what I thought too, wasnt this Bush's plan. And isnt this is because of his mess. Seems to me there always needs to be someone to blame and the finger never gets pointed in the right direction, just the convienient one. How Obama is to blame already is too funny.

I checked the votes and lots of republican conservitaves voted yes too.

It is a scary time indeed and its only going to get scarier. Obama will be up to his neck in the past 8 yrs, trying to dig us out, we need to support him. Every one is so angry now that the economy is a mess but we spend 10 billion a month on a war where people are needlessly dieing and that hasnt gotten them in an uproar, just a slight heckle. Trillions or billions or even hundreds of dollars seem top priority when we can and will earn more, but we will never get those lives back. Ever.

Not all republicans are conservatives (ever hear of a rhino: republican in name only?) not all liberals are tree huggers.

I think Mr. Carpenter was just using the phonetic spelling of the acronym.

Tree hugging liberal is the extreme (spin) to highlight the fact that I think the wall st. people are just like the crooked politicians and corporate CEOs. Who now seem to be looting the store because the cops are otherwise occupied.;)
