WASHINGTON (CNN) -- As Republican leaders sift through the ruins of the 2008 election and debate the party's future at the Republican Governors Association meeting this week, one of the GOP's potential standard-bearers is instead on a Caribbean cruise. But it isn't just any cruise and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/13/romney.future/) isn't just any Republican. Since the economy began its historic downturn six weeks ago, Romney's stock in his party appears to have skyrocketed.
I don't see this happening as a strong portion of the conservative base are Evangelical Christians who consider Mormonism a cult. The Mormons are the ones who saved us from the homosexuals earlier this month. Right wing politics becoming obsessed with religion in the past couple elections, Romney should watch what his preacher is saying as this could hurt him. Funny though that Palin got a pass on being Pentecostal?!??
