ok, so I have been pondering something but before I go on this is sincere curiousity. Alot of vegians/vegetarians say meat is murder because you must kill the animal to eat it. Why is eating vegitables not murder? Are they not living plants? Do they not have some sort of life essence that is severed when they are harvested?

With this in mind I have come to the conclusion that much like every other apsect of the food chain one much die for another to live and be nourished. Thus I move to have the propaganda of meat eaters being murderers to be stricken and removed on account of stupidity and the facts not fully thought out.... unless that meat is murder thing was started by peta then welll.. I can forgive the stupidity of the statement becaise it is just another marker for the stupid things that peta has done in the name of trying to achieve a good purpose.

Just stoned ass Shydog here, if you were a vegetarian eating in season in the winter meat is a neccesity, the vegatables do not grow in winter.
Rabbits, Squerrels, and if times are getting bad Racoons and Opossums.
Times have not gotten that bad yet. The Rabbit is looking good though.

For me its everything invloved in the whole meat process. Yes they die I get that, but the conditions in which they are slaughtered is horrible, unsanitary to say the least and very very inhuman. Those animals have horrible existances, what did they ever do to deserve a cage they cant turn around it, sit in, sleep in. Factory farms also contribute a great deal to global warming.

There pumped full of growth hormones so fast that a chicken can go from chick to full grown chicken in 2 -3 weeks, so fast there legs break and cant hold the wieght of there bodies, so they lay there suffering having there diner injected into them by a machine, being pumped full of antibiotics so they dont get diseased and become a meal for there friends. After there dead the rest of them is ground up into there meal, and refed to other chickens. There beeks are burned off when there chicks so they cant peck at eachother. After that wonderfull little live those chickens have lived there dipped in scalding water while still alive to have there feathers ripped out, there necks are ripped off by yet another machine, so they can they can bleed out, then there washed off in some more chemicals, cut up and served in your chicken nuggets.

So ya to me thats not only murder, its also torture. Which is ignorant and stupid. So as a meat eater you are indeed contributing to this murder and torture every time you take a bite. Bon Appetite :D


I want to clarify that I actually do eat meat, not often but I do. ONLY when I know where it came from, who raised it and how, I also eat venison which I know those deer are shot and that cant be pleasant but they at least had the chance to live. Its rare that I eat meat, but when I do Im aware of what took place with every bite I take.

And to even justify that growing plants and veggies is at all the same as to what your chicken nugget goes though really really really pisses me off. And I mean that in the nicest way possible, I am not trying to chew you out or anything so dont take offenze its just a subject that really gets me going.

I understand all of that hand have seen many videos and peta movies, including the one you linked me to about it and it is a shame and I would much rather they let feed animals go free range, unfortunately that isn't very common or economic for the corporate machines that want to make all the money.

I was just talking about the cliche of meat is murder. I'm into horror and gore so I have been known to watch things like that while I eat. I was watching the thing trent reznor recently did on the treatment of cats in I think it was china for the fur trade, I was also eating at the time and it didn't phase me. Hell, I was eating turkey while I was looking at that video... at least it wasn't chicken right?

One of Dad's former nut cases.. I err.. mean gf's was a avid vegan and anti meat eater. She even gave him hell for letting me order a burger while we were out at a restaurant. I see it like religion in a way, mainly because they both require great amounts of faith and dedication to work, but some people can remove meat from their diets, I for one have trouble incorporating veggies into mine. I like a bloody rare steak and there is no way I will give it up.

But this really isn't important since my initial statement said it wasn't trying to start something but only mean as a psychological tickler and something I was trying to amuse people with but unfortunately it got drawn way beyond that and apparently you were offended by it and for that I apologize. I just think it's amusing that because the veggies don't bleed and make noises it's ok to kill them.

Animals have brains, hearts, eyes bodily organs just like we do, blood flowing through there viens. Pigs are so smart, they can learn, think and react. Same with cows, they can even cry. Whales, dolphins, are so smart. Just because we dont speak there language doesnt mean they dont have one. Last I knew my asparagus has no heart, no blood, no intellect at all really, no eyes, no voice.

I see no comparrison what so ever. I bleed, I make noises, is it ok to force feed me growth hormones, antibiotics, boil me alive to remove my skin, just because I can communicate. Animals communicate with eachother. The logic you keep is just not like my own, I except that and I am not offended you dont feel the way I do about it. ok.. your missing the entire point that my initial post that started this WAS A JOKE!!! A psychological musing that I play with in my head to kill time in this redneck hell hole of pa that I am cursed to currently live in as an attempt to keep what little sanity I have.

I never said it was my logic nor my belief, as I said I would rather the animals were treated better but me not eating them is not going to stop it from happening. All it will achieve is me eating more eggs and probably losing alot of weight because I can not stand most veggies. Neither texture nor taste are pliable to me.

I actually disagree about the caveman/meat thing. I think man did hunt for meat and more importantly skins to keep warm. However, I think the bulk of early man's diet was a predominantly herbivore diet.
Proof would be the appendix and caecum - which used to be bigger to process cellulose and house necessary bacteria to do so. The appendix/caecum is much bigger in primates, and even bigger in total herbivore animals like rabbits, etc.

So............eat your veggies. Your prehistoric body wants you to. :)

nope, not aimed at anyone in particular just the entire situation in general. I never mentioned the meat industry nor how it was treated in the process. I am sure that not ever place has those conditions. I have never gotten a broken chicken leg when I buy my leg quarters. I do try to buy organic free-range chicken when ever possible but it is hard since I do not know the area nor where within a reasonable distance I can find a farm that does it. I can not help where I shop since wal-mart put out all the small business around here, even the old school butchers. So hence I never made a joke about the meat industry, I made a joke about veggies and those who prefer them.
