If you dont remember this is one of the worst tragedies ever
This Thursday marks the 24th anniversary of the day when 40 tons of toxic gases from a pesticide plant were leaked into the air over Bhopal, India, killing thousands. Since then little or nothing has been done to clean up the long abandoned site, even though many nearby residents continue to suffer from devastating health effects and birth defects.
Last month, a New York Judicial panel reinstated a case on behalf of people who lived or worked near the plant. Perhaps, something finally will happen to deal with what many regard as one of the most blatant miscarriages of corporate accountability
