Any seamstresses here that can make me one? Pareos are normally made from a really light fabric that's easy to knot. Maybe a tie-dye?
I have to trade: 2 bamboo curtains of a similar type as this picture (http://altura.speedera.net/ccimg.catalogcity.com/210000/213600/213664/Products/8917246.jpg). They're each slightly over 35 inches wide and about six feet long. They're great in a doorway or I put them alongside each other hanging off the ceiling for a room divider. One is, inexplicably, about an inch longer than the other one.

This may be s tupid question but what is a pareo? I'm a seamstress but I've never heard of it :) I'd love if you'd explain it

Totally not a stupid question! :)
I cut and pasted this from a website...basically it's just a rectangle of fabric...I'm interested in a tie-dye kinda look....
"They may call it a pareo, sarong, sari, lava-lava, zulu, longee, canga, pagne, boubou, beach wrap and various other names, but all it is, is a rectangle of fabric.
If you wish to create your own pareo, all you really need to get started are the fabric sizes. Just remember to choose a lightweight fabric so that it can be easily knotted, drapes well and dries quickly.
- Standard adult pareo sizes (cm): 170 x 115 (Japan) 185 x 115 (standard) 210 x 115 (Tahiti) 260 x 115 (Samoa) - Standard child's pareo sizes (cm): 120 x 80 (up to 16 years) 120 x 60 (8 to 12 years) 60 x 30 (2 to 8 years)"
And here's (http://atravelersblessing.com/Detail.bok?no=27) a link to a site that's selling em...and has a good picture of them...but they're not a hippie print.
I'm just sort of hoping this can be my hippie wedding dress someday! (assuming I get married again...) Wearing something handmade would be so much more awesome than some commercial thing. light colors??? (white is DEFINITELY not necessary...) :o

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but I tye dyed a king size white sheet. I hang it on my wall as a tapestry. Tye dye kits is $20 at walmart and easy to do and it's enough for many projects you should try that

I have to check the barter board more often.
They're the hangy kind that you saw in Greg Brady's room. Like in a doorway.
Sort of like beads but it's chunks of bamboo instead.
Somebody take these things, please! They're laying on the bed in my spare bedroom and nobody can sleep in there until they're gone! :)
I don't want to throw them away and I thought it'd be right up some Happy Hippie's ally.
