My boyfriend is coming home this weekend!!!! I am so happy :D For those that don't know, we are doing the long distance thing and it is so Blaah! It has been 6 weeks since I have last seen him. But he is coming home and we are going to celebrate Valentines day. I made him a fleece blanket (the easy kind that you tie at the edges), and chocolates. Even though it is hard to have a long distance relationship, I notice that we do more thoughtful things for each other. We both write to each other once a week (snail mail- it makes it so much more special) but we also talk on the phone for hours- and we have been together for 8 years. Sorry you guys for the sappiness, but I am really happy that I am going to spend some time with him and had to share it with someone :)

I'm happy for you, too!

I know all about the long distance thing (from my personal experiences, as well as one of my good friend's) and it is definately difficult - but you're doing the right things :).

I hope you have a good valentines day!

Valentines day will be sad for me... I don't get to do anything for my significant other :(

Oh Lady! That's just great! And those gifts sound amazing!

Do you have an oil or something that you wear regularly and have for a long time? Like, a scent that's yours and smells like you to anyone who gets a whif of it? I'd put a little on the blanket, so when he curls up with it at night when he's far away he'll smell you.

That's what they say to do with babies and breastmilk anyway!

Peace!

We had a fabulous time this weekend! It was great doing absolutely nothing and staying in bed all weekend. I miss those little mundane things that are usually taking for granted when you are with someone all the time. We did go to this nice Italian restaurant called Buca di Beppo (I guess it is a chain restaurant). We ate good Italian food, drank a bottle of Chianti, and had great conversations.
We also went to one of the local parks and hiked and saw a plethora of deer. They also had an exhibit of birds of prey (the birds are injured in such a way that they wouldn't be able to survive in the wild so they tend to them) But I saw a bald eagle up close, and it was the most magnificent creature I have ever seen. And they had red tailed hawks and different owls (I think that owls are very pretty animals, so seeing them up close was so fun).
But my man just left a little over an hour ago and I already miss him. We are planning to see each other in a couple of weeks though. We agreed that 6 weeks is entirely too long.

Bandaide- Before I happened to read your post, I did put lavendar on my pillows and bed. It is one of his favorite scents.
And Peace Frog- 7 years!!! I think that 7 months is the pits, but I can't imagine 7 years. It does take extra dedication, and in the end when you are finally with your love it is definately worth it.
Thank you everyone for your replies :)
