Well my vacuum cleaner bit the dust and Ive been saving up for a new one. BUT what one do I get? There are a million of them out there and I want a good one that I will have forever. Ive been looking at those Dysons, they are crazy expensive, are they worth it? Ive been reading reviews, many people love them. But it makes me kinda ill to shell out that kinda money on one.

Ive got a dog that sheds a pound of fur a day plus one long haired cat, and one short haired cat, both of them shed tons too. I sware I live in a fur bowl, so I am constantly sweeping.

So anyone got any rave reviews on vacuums preferably, bagless no filter replacing either??

Thanks :D

Oh ya and what the heck do I do with my old one?

I was going to suggest Dyson. Here is a place where you can get them new or refurbed (I don't recall). I use this company often to save money, we are planning on buying a Dyson from them the next time they offer them. Currently they are out and not listed on the site, but they get them from time to time. I know that doesn't help you at this moment.

Heartland America: Vacuums (http://www.heartlandamerica.com/browse/search.asp?GUID=9E7A0918-8462-4C56-864A-67FCDE2F52DF&storefront=1)

I think it would be cool to have a robot if your floors are wood or shallow carpet. Went we pull the carpet up in our house and redo the wood floor, I'm getting a robot, for the coolness factor. I always wanted a robot.

Here's what I found on the google. (http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&safe=off&q=dyson+vacuum+cleaner&oe=UTF-8&scoring=p)

I would suggest ebay as well. If you need help with the eBay auctions, just PM me.

I have heard that the Dyson's are pretty over-rated. I have a Bissell bagless, and I LOVE it. It sucks up all the dog hair. And since you can see just how much stuff is coming out of your carpet, you find yourself vacuuming the same room several times...at least I do. I vacuum until I see no more dog hair in the bucket.

I will have to look at those. I am going to keep looking cause for the money vacuums are I am not taking it lightly, I cant. Plus I really want one that will last a long long time cause the one I have now I cant recycle, I dont know what the heck to do with it.

i have the Dyson Animal..i got it when Dyson first came out, so it's been well-used over the years. I have really enjoyed it, and I think it was a good value purchase considering how much I use it, and what it sucks up. We have two cats and a dog -sometimes there is SO much hair that comes up in on vacuum, it's like 'another animal' inside the tube. haha

Only complaint - the plastic tube that pops off to clean/empty, the little plastic tab that holds it on, has broken off. Duct tape is my friend right now, and will be until it bites the dust (literally).

I borrowed my sisters vaccum a bagless eureka and YUCK. I had to clean like 3 filters, empty the cup which wasnt bad but the maintence this thing requires sucked and not it a good way.

Im gonna ck out the animal, I have 1 dog 2 cats too and seems like as soon as Im done cleaning theres more hair everywhere, hair factory ugh!

Ok so I still have my sisters old vacum still draggin my feet on buying a new one, just cant decide what to get.

The woman who works across the street from me, we go for walks together in the summer, real nice older lady, she thinks im a hoot. Well she comes over yesterday and says hey, you need a vacum? (she doesnt know I do) I said actually I do, she gives me a brand new Oreck XL with the handheld vacum plus 8 extra bags. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I was shocked I looked online just to see and the set is like 600 bucks! A friend of hers passed away and she cleaned out the house etc.. and forgot this vacum has been in her trunk for months. I am so grateful, and shocked.

How cool though, right? Now I know why Ive been draggin my feet on buyin a new one!

I thanked the woman who passed, her name was Audrey, I actually knew her too, we worked for her alot. Im grateful and will put her vacum to good hard work :D I already did last night, never thought Id be so excited over a vacum LOL

I have a Bissell bagless and hate it. It keeps getting clogged... and I have wood floors, I only vacuum a few area rugs. Pretty sure I'm going to save the bucks for a better one in the near future.

PS: before buying anything, check out craigslist for some good deals :)
