There is no medical reason why baby boys are circumcised. Why then do we put newborn children through such pain?

PAMELA BONE reports.

ONE had to feel sorry for baby Kane, with a blood-stained bandage sticking to his poor little penis in an episode of the ABC's recent documentary-soap, ‘Sylvania Waters'.

However, as Paul, his father, lovingly explained to the baby, "It has to be done because when Daddy was a little boy and he went to the toilet with the other kids, the ones that weren't circumcised were laughed at. They weren't normal because they weren't circumcised." Even so, Paul said, he had to cry himself when he saw the tears running down the baby's face after the cut. But was little Kane's pain necessary? Because, contrary to what Paul believes, by the time Kane goes to school he is more likely to be different because he is circumcised. A generation ago parents who didn't want their baby boy circumcised had to take a firm stand. Today it is parents who do want their child circumcised who have to take a stand.

I really feel aweful admitting this but when my son was born I had him circumsized, if I could do it all over I would say no thanks. I know lots of men who are uncircumsized and just fine, no problem never had any either. But Im never having any more kids sooo I wont have to make the choice. Still feel terrible though.

The poor little baby will have no memory of the pain, I speak from experiance.
At least in this country we do it on infants not on thirteen year olds like Muslems do.

Ya that is cruel, same with cutting off a womans clitoris when they hit puberty, that is just plan evil. I am pretty sure they stopped doing that though, that we know of anyways. What a horrible practice.

Regardless of the baby having memory of it, why even do it? Just teach cleanliness and one less procedure babies have to endure.

Leave the clitoris alone without a clitoris men haven't a clue as to whether they are in the movie or at the movie.
I 'm in favor of the "Helmet" rather than "The missing sock".
Better for hygiene and I'm told, sensitivity, my brother had his done in his thirties for those reasons...... for what it's worth.;)

A think Muslim men need to be told the penis size "doesn't matter", ( it does, but shhhhh!) and leave their woman alone.
And for the ensuing argument, a woman bursting out in laughter when your drawers hit the floor is fun for no one.

I have been with uncircumsized men and from what I was told is it makes it way better for them, way more sensitive. And I thought so too, from my perspective it was def different, I could tell. Im not sure how to say this tactfully, so I will just say it. It could have been he was just a better lover then others, not necessarly due to his uncircumsized self ;) I still am not sure which it was.
