Our school announced today that they are looking to cut out the World Language program. The kids have been getting 30 min. of spanish a day, and I'm amazed at what my daughter has learned already. I'm crushed!!

I wrote a blazing letter - there has got to be something else they can cut. I know things are lean, but it's sad to see that the kids are really truly losing out now. This isn't about crayons and paper ..but education.

Grrr.

I'm so sorry to hear that. People don't realize how important it is for children to get other languages early in life when their language centers are still forming.

Wow o wow..I just got the Press Release, and the district is making MAJOR cuts. We lost spanish (gone forever), they are increasing the class sizes across the board, and 'sharing principals' between two schools among many many many other horrible cuts.

Sad.

And I'll go to jail if I homeschool.

Time to move!!

I feel for you. That is so messed up. I don't know how the state can refuse you the right to teach your children and then refuse to make education top priority. It really makes me irate!

That is sad, esp the homeschooling part. How rotten.

Im sorry Meg, I hope things turn around soon!!!!

Kris's school has no language classes, that would have been cool! There school is so basic as is anyways I cant imagine they will be cutting anything, theres not much to cut.
