Does anyone garden this way? Sounds really interesting. Im gonna try it this year. I havent planted any seeds yet, but the next full moon is May 9th so Im going to plant then, I never have luck with seeds so we'll see!! I do have seeds going inside, in a lil greenhouse and some spinach outside, but I have tons more to plant.
Heres Kris helping me pick rocks. I sware my garden grows em by the barrel!!

Look at the big ol' plot!!!!!! lucky u!! I feel so constrained w/ my raised box. THink it's time to add another.
So what is the story with moon planting? I have some more seeds to plant - should I wait?

Some say plant root crops when there is no moon, and above ground crops when there IS a moon. They're supposed to do better. I've never noticed that, probably because other things have a lot to do with it- rain, heat, soil condition, etc.
What I have noticed is that if you plant your seeds as the moon is getting full they will germinate quicker. We try to plant when it's still a crescent. Seeds that should take three weeks to germinate take about one week.
And that's all I know, lol

Thats what I gathered too Pedata, plant seeds during or right before the full moon, the pull of the moon brings moisture to the soil and helps germinate the seeds faster. Im going to give it a go too, the moon is a pretty strong force. Plant root crops in new moon. I know old timers plant by it.
Meg, I wish I had raised beds, they look so nice!! Im going to add more to that plot this year with bags of dirt, and plant inside them. A no dig kinda garden bed. Thats where the squash, pumpkins and cukes are going. Im sick of them taking over the garden.
Do you make your own trellis for your beans? I always try too, every year it looks like a bean shanty and falls over, lol
