Baptists don't dance. I've never really had it explained to me as to why not, so I think it is the reason in the joke.
This is an old Baptist joke that I learned as a kid.
Do you know why Baptists don't make love standing up?
They don't want anyone to think they are dancing.

Currently being a Baptist I guess I'm also going to hell 'cause I like to dance. Not that people like to SEE me dance... :D
Problem is there are so many typs of Baptists: Southern, Regular, Independant (Thousands of these! Not many wanting to have much to do with anyone else.), KJO (King James Only), Free Will, Bible, Missionary,... It goes on forever! Virtually the only thing they have in common is the belief that you've got to be dunked to be genuinely baptised. That and the calm assurance that they are the only ones who have the truth.
Won't they be supprised? :hippie:

seems silly to me. what about the poeple in churches that actually DANCE up and down. there in a church, does that make it OK. or even worse?

Baptists, at least where I am from, are mostly white folk. It's probably best that they don't dance.;)
