I wrote this about a month ago, and figured I would share it. I had dreamed of a bear stalking me then decided to write about it. I tried fighting it, but it was everywhere I tried to be to get away. Anyway... enjoy.

a bears outside creeping
at my window before dawn.
gave me chills down my spine
but i just couldn't run.
reached down inside me
looking for some strength.
my bodies still sleeping
can't even feel my feet.
slipped out for my pistol
grabbed my knife too for fun.
outside i didn't see anything
but I could hear my blood run.
i could smell him now
crawled on through the fear.
the morning was still dark
his presence felt near.
i know death will come soon
either to him or it's me.
done made up my mind
gonna take down this beast.
he came at me broad
my bullets they blasting.
the king of his land
he must be done fasting.
pissed off and hungry
looking for some meat.
i cleared six shots
then cut his throat deep.
spilled out his guts
it warmed up my feet.
i climbed back in bed
felt safe again to sleep.
i heard another rumble
but i thought he had died.
he down in my kitchen
ribs poked through his hide.
he snarled and spit blood
i kicked at his bones.
i musta been dreaming
i ain't ever felt this bold.

i love that......
actually,
i loved it all....
it felt more like an inner struggle
portrayed through a dream
two opposing forces steming from one root
are often the hardest fights

the opponent in us
can sometimes feel
overpowering,
yet sometimes it is the only balance we can achieve

but that is just what i got
nice work, do you write a lot?

Thanks, I'm glad to share it. I do write, but not as much as I would like to. I have random streams of conciousness flow through quite often, but rarely do I put them to paper. Usually when I put forth the effort to write... it's to my wife.

and that is probably the most meaningful direction it could go, yes? :)
and i do believe that randomness is key....

thanks for sharing.... do it again :hippie:
