I just got this email. lol

Hi

I'm the creator of The Church of the Latter-Day Dude (Dudeism (http://dudeism.com/)), a real religion based on the film The Big Lebowski. I was hoping that maybe you'd consider writing about us over at Happy Hippie.

Dudeism is growing rapidly - we now have over 60,000 ordained "Dudeist Priests" all over the world, an official publication (The Dudespaper (http://dudespaper.com/)), a holy book (The Tao Dude Ching (http://dudeism.com/tao), a Dudeist translation of the Tao Te Ching), and many more things in the works including a book about Lebowskian philosophy called The Tao of the Dude. Lots of other stuff too. Many people really dig our Big Lebowski Haikutomatic. (http://www.dudeism.com/haikutomatic.html)

Also, as the Dudely Lama of Dudeism, I was recently featured in a Volkswagen ad discussing Dudeism and The Big Lebowski:

Thanks,

Well, considering the Volkswagon ad, Oliver has struck that chord that is missing from most mainstream religions - media popularity! I mean, who makes the Pope-mobiles? You don't know, do you? That's because he's just not connected to the populace. Now Volkswagon ... well, they've got Hasselhof, so we know they're hip.

I'm in for a sainthood, as long as it doesn't require that silly martyrdom shit. That's just a total buzzkill, it's unnecessary, and certainly not a "me thing". At all.

I will say that "Saint Gaston" has a certain ring of legitimacy to it, though, don't you think? :D

PS - If The Dude doesn't dig the "Saint" think, I could settle for "Boddhisatva". As long as I don't have to be the jolly one with the huge belly. I mean, he's cool, but that's not really a "me" thing either. I'd go for being a Buddha, but there's all that sitting around and teaching people things over and over, and I need my quiet time.

Thanks, this made my morning!

Gaston, you crack me up. I see a name change in your future "Boddhisatva" ;D
