Fair and balanced? Is it journalism or ventrilloquism? Did you know that at one of the latest Bush press conferences, one of the members of the "press corps" wasnt press at all?!? But was a man placed amongst the WhiteHouse groupie media whores by the administration to ask questions that would lead to the desired propaganda laden responses. :mad: Another perk might be, that if one of drone reporters grew a set of balls somehow after being issued his press pass, he wouldnt be able to ask anything of substance anyways. As I've posted before, I find it amuseing the way they name these military campaigns. Its like they are naming the prom or something except with names that would be more appropriate on the cover of a playstation game. I understand that they were considering naming OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, OPERATION IRAQI LIBERATION accept the acronym for the latter was of course O.I.L. and no one likes to tip there hand that early in a card game. Anyways after naming the prom, they hold the press conference and release the name, next day its on the front page of every paper. Tell me how would if be any different in a Communist Government or Dictatorship where they have state run newspapers for the sole purpose of state propaganda? I dont know about you guys but I'm still waiting for my shock and awe!!! :kngt:

fake, fake fake and waste of money. how much time is spent on stupid things like that, I cant even watch the news it gets me wishing I still smoked pot so I could watch it and not really hear it! those so called press releases are always staged they want to show us how real it is while they lie out of there ass's!! :vomit-smi makes me want too!!!

Hey Tree Hugger awesome link! Pretty scarey! But you know what else is alarming is the people(and I mean all kinds of people) who buy into the propaganda, lock, stock and barrel. It's like "SHAVE YOUR HEAD AND HAVE SOME KOOLAID" and around here if you are displaying a magnetic "I SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" yellow ribbon you just about own an F-ing piece of the liberty bell. Which BTW I 'll bet Tony Orlando had no idea.....

oh, gawd don't even go there....every day on the vanpool to work (I commute a short distance) I can't even count the number of big, gas guzzling SUVs with...oh, a couple "support the troops" yellow ribbons (don't get me wrong, I do support the troops too but I don't support the war)...a few american flags...a couple "we vote prolife" stickers as well as a bush/cheny sticker...

Anyway, Yes peace_frog i'm always amazed at some of the names they give. I'm sure they take forever to decide on a name too!!! It makes me laugh even when a local police dept. creates names to bust grow-ops and such:)...i guess it shows their 'creative' side!

i cant stand that rediculous show hannity & colmes on fox news. colmes is the "dumb" liberal on that show, which is supposed to be a "fair & balanced" show. fair & balanced my ass! anyone else seen/heard of it? i hope you havent seen it b/c it makes all liberals look stupid. i HATE FOX NEWS! :mad:

Yes, Alan Colmes is not the most aggressive personality that could have been chosen to sit opposite Hanity. It was hard to get used to looking at that guy, he looks like someone hit him between the eyes with a fish billy. SO... you got Mr. LOOKIT ME I'M OPINIONATED AND HANDSOME-vs.- MR. I'VE GOT CARTOON BLUEJAYS AND PLANETS CIRCLING MY HEAD!!! But the one that gets me is Ann Colter! What a smug B*TCH. And dont get me started on O'Riley!!! ;)

How about we be fair and balanced, though? I actually like a couple of the fox news people; namely, Britt Hume, the Washington Editor and host of "Special Report with Britt Hume". He seems like an intelligent guy, and I don't notice too much bashing from him - his guests, maybe, but I've seen him stop it, too. So he seems like a good guy to me. Also, Shepherd Smith, he's pretty funny ( maybe I smoke too much :rolleyes: ) and I've seen him present moderate and liberal points of views from time to time, almost sneaking them in :p.

Which CNN and MSNBC anchors do we dislike? Scarborough's (or however it is splled) Country :rolleyes:

you ever play the game with a younger sibling where you show him your one hand and when he looks you smak him with the other?...thats media in a nutshell. And a ok fix to this problem is watching bbc on ch. 20 for the international news and tivo through the local news to get through the crap.
o and i hate soft reporting...according to SOME sources...SOME say...ITS been said ect. its garbage. thats such crappie reporting its rediculous!

For a long time now bush is making us hear what he wants us to see or something like that.

I want to know how we can call ourselves free if he goes around passing things like the patriot act. Oh and did I mention that we are trying to force other countries to use our democracy... even though we are a republic.

That's like Russia saying well America has Nukes lets make them become a communist nation. We're not patriots we a imperialist and I agree with peace frog I don't want and F-ing yellow sticker cuz i can't support anything this country does. Beside my frickin phone is ringing off the hook for me to join the army, navy or some military thing.

So back to the orignial issue at hand... yeah the press is trying to gain some brownie points with Bush by making his IQ seem higher (good luck ABC).
