I think it's due to people getting what little they can done outside before it gets colder. I have been working on my home business, and planning a home garden/ greenhouse, so that's my excuse.
As for Palin. She's got about as much sense as that idiot kid who sits there in front of the camera trying to bluff everyone into thinking that he has undiscovered dirt on her. I'm getting tired of hearing about his stupid ass as much as I'm tired of hearing about Jon & Kate.
IF I were republican, I wouldn't vote for Palin for the sole purpose that she quit before her term to write her book, oh I'm sorry, to focus on her family. She saw dollar signs and grabbed for it. So why should I vote for someone who can't even finish her last term in office? Not to mention that she really has no qualifications to handle a job as a president of a country. If you look at her track record, it sounds like someone like me who ran for mayor only to run for governor a few years later then a few years later running for president. She has high hopes, but the reality is that she is way under qualified.
The sperm donor known as her grandson's father is about a smart as a bag of door knobs. I saw him in an interview (before I found the remote), he sat there looking off camera and would only look at the speaker when he was ready to talk. When he did, it was over his shoulder to the host. He had his smug SEG on his face like he had some bombshell to drop. He then proceeds to trash Palin with what sounds like stretches of the imagination, then goes on to talk about how he's posing for Play Girl magazine (I didn't know it was still published LOL). Now that sounds classy doesn't it? I hope that all the money he's making off of his dog and pony show gets put into an account for his son to use for the future, but I doubt it. To me, he's just a stupid kid who thinks he has the world figured out.

I feel bad for her, she just looks more and more idiotic everyday. Who quits there job writes a book, goes on tour far far away from her family does countless interviews away from home the reason she quit her job was to be with her family right? Makes a whole lotta sense doesnt it.:kngt:
Im sure she will be nominated, people are really gung ho for her, I dont get it. I cant even stand looking at her.
And the kid is posing in playgirl?????????????????????????? Thats crazy.
Ive been busy too, work, and making christmas gifts is keeping me busy.

I suspect that since the RNC was successful in electing a rube once (Dubya), they had a political disconnect and thought that Rube II (Palin) would be a cinch.

Dubya was in no way a conservative but at least he knew how to wage a war.... whether the war SHOULD have been waged is a different matter.

Knowing NOTHING about U.S. politics I can't and won't comment, but around here, yes we're winterizing. The 4runner is up on blocks for a new clutch and we have 2 campers and a trailer to button up for the winter.
Rick finished my horse's stall today and is going to put a door on it. We're still ripening tomatoes in boxes and trying to get the fall cleaning done too.
But I'm sure some of you know how that goes, you get a nice clean house and someone else who's been cleaning drops off a few boxes of stuff and then somebody else does and pretty soon you have to start cleaning all over again:(
I'm hoping to be finished the fall & winter cleaning in time to start Spring cleaning;)
But I know all too well that there will be things that I chuck out 3 times because they've made the rounds and come back to me-like the sweater I donated to the Food Bank last fall came back the other day! I told Rick to take it back again and look for something else!
So to all, whatever you are doing.
Take Care, Stay Well, stay warm and stay dry (raining like the dickens here)

I'm happy to see Sarah Palin in the news again only because it gives me hope that Tina Fey will come back to SNL...at least for a little bit.

Dear Libra,
In eight years of running a computer I still haven't learned to make a blog, and I'd rather share my doings with people who understand what I'm doing instead of the world at large.
Today I put an ad on craigslist to see if I can rent my big camper by Jan 1st.
I need the extra income.
It's been really quiet around here for me, Rick's been working and Roly is never home--and I can't go out because he's driving my van, his 4runner needs a clutch.
Well the van needs CV joints so he'd better not wear it out completely.
I have a Christmas pageant to take my donkey to at an Epicopal church on Dec. 19th. Hope that goes well and that my van lasts until then
HUGS to all
