So... I went to my mom's house today and there was an invitation to my high school reunion there.

I moved from Colorado to the east coast when I was 20 and haven't really kept in touch with anyone (all but one friend and she hasn't kept in touch with anyone but me.)

Because I've had this distance I would LOVE to go to it. I feel really good about what I've accomplished in my life and would like to share it and see what happened to everyone else. I want to know if they are where they think they'd be. Plus, there is one girl who I've tried so hard to find but haven't been able to, sadly enough.

Unfortunately, I can't go because I'll be in my third trimester and won't be able to fly.

Blah.

Has anyone else attended theirs?

I don't know if I will be invited to the school I went to through most of high school because I didn't graduate there, which pisses me the fuck off because I hated the school I graduated from; but then the school in question is being shut down in the next few years so likely there will only be a most unofficial thing and I am sure I will hear about it, as we Heidelbergers are in this secret society and pretty much keep a chain of communication between former members... It's a good thing (TM).

And if I get invited to go to my reunion at the school I graduated from? I probably won't go. I hated that place... No one really knew or cared about me, anyway, so it isn't as if I will be missed. Hell, I *skipped* my graduation in order to go back to Germany. I had more fun that week than I had the entire school year in California.

I went to my tenth year reunion...I was NOT all that popular or well liked in high school...but I am glad I went. It is really an eye-opener...how much everybody changes in that time. Athletes become couch potatoes; outgoing people become shy; wallflowers blossom; the ugly duckling becomes the swan....

It's really quite interesting...and I am looking forward to my 20th reunion next year!!!

Damn...I am SO old.... ;)

I went to my 4th year reunion, got surprised because the guy I knew who said he would *not* get involve with marriage and kids had kids and a wife, the girls who were popular were not so pretty and the girls who were not so pretty were beautiful.

I still can remember that date because the next day I got a letter admitting me to medical school. :)

Does anyone have any tips on how to find someone they've been looking for?

This whole reunion thing has got me thinking about a girl who I'd really like to be in touch with but can't find.

Also, Bunny's b-day is coming up, so this isn't a time when I can spend a lot of money on it. So, something for free would be best.

Yeah, the alumni websites (there's plenty, classmates.com is but one of many) are a good place to start - you'd be surprised how many people get nostalgia and will put their information up in the chance their long lost friend might check up.

Following that, various types of person searches.

And then old fashioned detective work.

Good luck, Agent BandAide. :D
