This thread is meant for each of us to express, out loud, why we appreciate whoever it is we appreciate.

The idea was inspired by a visit I had with a close friend the other night. Her husband came home and was being grumpy and generally very inconsiderate of her. I mean, he's a nice guy. He wasn't being abusive or anything... just sort of a butthead. Maybe he had a tough day... who knows?

But, it got me thinking that my husband has never treated me that way. I can't imagine my husband treating me that way.

And so he is the person I celebrate in this thread.

I appreciate my husband because:

-He has never told me "No." Whether it be a favor I ask, an errand I want him to run, a backrub I need, or a diaper to change, he has never said "No" or given me an attitude about it. And I mean, NOT ONCE! NEVER.

-I gained 73 pounds in my pregnancy, which made me really, really, really fat and he still treated me affectionately and regularly told me I looked beautiful.

-When losing this weight, he bought me an ipod to listen to when I took the baby for walks and had it engraved to say "mommy extraordinaire" on the back.

-He writes awesome songs about me and sings them at shows with his band while making eye contact with me and all the girls around us dance and smile at me.

-He makes the bed... poorly... but he makes it.

-He hangs the paintings I make him up at work.

-He does the laundry.

-He always stays calm when in the face of me totally losing my cool.

-He is the funniest person EVER.

-When we get in the car he always asks if there is something I want to listen to before putting something on.

-He likes having our friends over.

-He put beer on top of our garbage cans for the garbage men to show our appreciation.

-When he disagrees with someone he says, "no, man." I think it's so cute.

-He always tells me that I look nice when I am wearing a turtle neck sweater or my bangs are drastically swooped across my forehead in a 1940's movie star way.

-The first thing he does when he gets up is put on his wedding ring.

And on and on and on and on....

:) Man, this is a hard one b/c I appreciate so many people, but I am going to choose to honor my twin daughters. Not only because I do appreciate them tremendously, but because today is their 23rd birthday. They both have baby girls and so I appreciate them for giving me two beautiful grand-daughters. They have never EVER been disrespectful to me, not even when they were teenagers (I wish I could say that for my 17 and 15 year olds too) and they always expressed to me their love either by telling me, hugging me or making me cards or writing me letters. They have always been my dream girls. Now that they are older they are always available to cart my other children around to Walmart or the mall or to the movies (wherever). I do appreciate them and the more I think of the reasons I do, the more I realize how much I do. They were born when I was 17 years old and they have brought me so much joy (along with my other 4 kids). They are the type of people who truly recognize the joy around them. One of the twins lost her first baby to stillbirth and she has overcome it with such bravery (for lack of a better word) and they are both such wonderful mothers. I am rambling, I guess. Anyway, I am truly appreciative to and for them and I wish them both a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Bandaide you rock!

-He makes the bed... poorly... but he makes it.
That reminds me of my mom, so this is for her. The only thing in the world I would cut my hair for, and when she got lymphoma I shaved my head and made a wig out of my long red curly hair that she always loved and wanted to have. So she got it. And I love her so much. Without her I would not even exist. I even attached a photo of the drinking and smoking that commenced before the wig making. Notice David as the light switch. lol

P.S. Also A little love to delta9... You rock man!
