If I remember correctly, the big problem was the direct foot on rubber contact. Might work better if the top of the sole was covered with some sort of thick cloth, or maybe cork or something. That'd probably be more comfortable, too.

Thanks for the thought but... Actually there is NO SMELL to Old Ho's!. I have worn my sandals for 3 years in the tropics and have had no smell from them at all. It seems people see these sandals as a novelty item but they truly are very comfortable and practical. Sorry for the perceived Russian theme by the way...it is meant to be more Vietnamese. Old Ho and all...
Cheers,

Hey,
Does anyone know how snuggly these fit. I would like to but some for kayaking, $10 sounds alot better than $90 for chacos. But of course they would have to fit tight enough so that they didnt come off in the water. Thanks.

Hi,
Old Ho's are super snug fitting and they can be fit to your liking by adjusting the inner tube straps. The tube rubber is used as bungy cord material here in Asia and so gives you an idea of how snug they will be on your feet. They ain't comin' off! Great for water sports as they don't absorb the water and dry very quickly. You just have to try 'em - then you'll swear by 'em!
