Does anyone have any suggestions? I live in southern maine and live in a fairly woodsy but area. My boyfriend got me a huge hammock for christmas and we'd like to create some sort of privacy screen using vines or something natural. I absolutely love morning glories but unfortunatly they like the sun, and to hang up the hammock we have to put it near some pine trees. does anyone have any suggestions? oh yeah and we have a massive army of slugs..... ewwww.

Lots of great information here! (http://www.savvygardener.com/Features/shade_gardening.html)

I was just going to pluck out the good information...but I realized there was far too much!

You also might want to consider shrubs for privacy as well...or ornamental grasses.

Near pine trees, look for something acid loving as well as shade loving.

The first thing that came to mind when I read shade loving vines is Ivy.

yeah, in that website, down toward the bottom there's some awesome tables of all kinds of plants that do well in the shade. Including shrubs and vines and stuff...I'd think you should be able to find something you like there.
