Decoration ideas for a second hand cd shop

Hey all, I work in a second hand cd shop and it seriously lacks interesting decoration. I think the shattered Cd mosiac is a great idea, I'm definately going to do that one. I would really appreciate any ideas you guys have! Thanks! :)

I'm not so artistic, but I have seen a bunch od cds on a wall and then a naked lady painted on them, which was very nice. Maybe you could paint something more uh, family oriented. :)

What's the shop specialty?

By that I mean is there a specific genre?

The recycled CDs are great..but I think other things are needed along with that or else all the mirror-ey surfaces are going to get overwhelming.

Say you've got lots of heavy metal stuff....I'd dig up an old mannequin and punk it all up with a wig from the 80s...piercings...tatoos...maybe a leather (pleather?) skirt....

Or you could do that for other genres as well...dress it up but really outlandishly, in something that represents the main focus of your shop...

Maybe this isn't making sense though...

i like your idea kath....

i've arranged old cd's in a big pattern on my main wall in my bedroom.... it looks so beauftiful when you light candles in there at night.....

oooh! well you could take blank cds and paint liek intricate designs/pictures on them and hang them up by clear/fishing line at different levels all around the shop *hang them fromt the ceiling. That would look cool ;)

Im into mosaics lately, you could make mosaics out of whatever and there awesome to me anyway, you could paint cd's all diff colors and bust them to use them as mosaic peices!! yaaaa for mosaics!!! :cheers:
