Horrible. Just horrible. Really, I hope it's just propaganda, but it's probably true. I don't know how people can do that.

Peace,
Cassandra

Terrible. :( People would say neccessity drives them to do these? China is a very poor country, those people need to eat, buy things for their families. But yes, killing animals are wrong. Killing animals like that are very wrong. I saw on television that when the buying stops the killing would stop too. I think it' right.

Just watched the video. Sick.

I'm not against fur. I own fur and hides. But the animals they came from were dead before any cutting started. Rabbits and deer. Yes, I shot them. And I ate them. Those animals, in China, could have been killed before they were skinned. They were just being tortured. Sick and evil. I just hope the shock of it made them die quickly. It just makes no sense. It's difficult enough to properly skin a dead animal, why do it alive?

Please, put your spray cans away.

Critter-eating, Fur-wearing,
Cassandra

Agreed. Wearing fur and using animal byproducts in general is not inherantly evil. IMO, raising animals just for the purpose of skinning them or eating them or whatever is questionable, particularly in the ways it's done in today's world.

I agree with toman on this. It's not inherently evil...if it helps you stay at warm at night and put food on the table...sure by all means kill these animals...or even better collect roadkill for this purpose!
My problem is mass, inhumane slaughter and marketing for fashion.

It takes 40 (small game) animals to make a fur coat...All the while, synthetic fabrics, both warmer and lighter than fur, have eliminated the need to kill animals for their fur
http://www.hsus.org/wildlife/issues_facing_wildlife/fur_and_trapping/

So much unnecessary suffering, I know where I live the government is actually rewarding such acts
In 2003, the Canadian government announced a new quota. It will allow sealers to kill 975,000 harp seals over the next three years
Why up the quota? b/c these seals are responsible for the declining cod stocks along the east coast. I'm sure this decline has nothing to do with persistent overfishing in the region for the last 40 years

And for six months of the year, everyday...
up to 40% of seal pups were being skinned while alive and conscious

IMHO,I for one will keep my spray paint close by:(

Me, personally, I am all for the Native American ways.

If I'm going to kill a cow, I'm damn well going to eat it and make leather - at the least. I'm also going to kill it quickly and help its spirit along, thanking it for helping me.

It's all about respect.

I hate to sound like just the kind of person we all find distasteful, but I can honestly say that anyone who defaces any of my property because of politcal opinions, particularly if it's something I'm wearing, can expect some very uncomfortable physical injury. In other words, anyone who spray paints my vintage leather jacket or scratches my hotrod is going to get their fucking ass beat. Respect is one of the key behaviors that makes us human, and vandalizing other people's property is one step away from vandalizing the person.

yep, so true:)
However, there are many humans that have little respect for any plant or animal...exemplified by all the live skinning going on in this thread...

hehehe, as for the paint....I just like pushin buttons sometimes:D...to get a reaction...i don't even own spray paint and am too nice of a person to perform such acts
