read about the 30 hour famine at www.worldvision.ca, i am a group leader in calgary alberta canada looking for supporters. basically, we would not eat for 30 hours to symbolize the suffering of people and children around the world who must go to bed every night hungry, and we collect donations to go towards programs at our famine will be held april 1-2, 2005, i have put up posters in my community and school, got my leadership and social studies classes involved, and have one company donating bottled water. It only takes $1 to feed a child for a day! our goal is $365 to feed a child for one year, we have plenty of participators but no donations so far! I had heard some rumours of previous famines held in say, gymnasiums to be unproffessional. I have started my own group to involve those who are apprehensive about a larger, more public group. If you have attended one of these events (in any city) or are in the calgary area and need me to email you additional information, please contact me at magill@happyhippie.com, i would love to hear your advice, or your experience as a human rights activist!

OUR VISION FOR EVERY CHILD, LIFE IN ALL ITS FULLNESS OUR PRAYER FOR EVERY HEART,THE WILL TO MAKE IT SO

Itīs nice that people torture themselves for others thatīs suffering.
The best thing should be if people started to take suicides to prevent war what a nice world this could be.
And it is good that u can collect money of the ones watching u suffer, they had something like that in circuses before, the bearded lady an other grotesk people.

Keep up the good work.

i did it last year with my youth group and we actually had a lot of fun....we drank a lot of coffee and they whined towards the end but you'd be surprised how much you appreciate food when you can't eat it for 30 hours....not really torture, actually very good for your body...detoxes it a lot....30 hours isn't that big of a deal....
