So much waste

So I work at a restraunt and Ive been noticing how much waste just our little establishment produces. We throw away so many boxes and so much extra food it boggles the mind. I wish i could take the boxes and recycle them but it just wouldnt work out with me being in school and the boxes getting thrown away in the morning. I also wish the Americans would not waste so much food, we could feed so many children in third world nations with the food we pile in the dumps. I dont know if any one else feels this way but i am sick of all the wastefulness.

It dependes on the restraunt you work at, and if your in a big city or little but you could try asking the owner or manager to donate all the unused food to a food bank or homeless shelter. that way at least once or twice a week your not throwing so much away...
when it comes to boxes most places have a compacter on hand, that bondles all the boxes up and then some one comes and gets them ... :hippie:

Im not just talking about food that goes bad. I regularly see full plates of food that we made get thrown away for no good reason other than the person wasnt hungery any more. Ill have to look more in to the boxs. Thanks for the suggestion.

i know people that love places like that. they go dumpster diving and eat the food thats all leftover; but hey, besides the risks involved in that, totally agree that theres just too much waste.
i just stopped eating out.
