I just realized I am a book whore as well. I have freaking books everywhere on all sorts of random subjects. No wonder I have so much useless info.

I have entirely too many books for idiots and dummies. I mean, yeah, I qualify as both but I don't need so many books to point it out.

time to go to the library and donate some.

i am quite the bookwhore as well. boxes and boxes and boxes and then ones that i've just scattered about...shelves and shelves. mine are fairly restricted in topic but i did just find one on the free masons. always thought they were creepy and i think someone gave it to me. i'm only going to keep the ones i know i'll reread and those sentimental ones. i defintiely would love to give any of them to someone in need or simply wants a book!

I laugh out loud everytime I hear the free mason's begging for members with that phony ben franklin voice.

    Great!

It's hard to choose. I'd say that the Numerical Discourses of the Buddha, and The Long Discourses of the Buddha (Digha Nikaya) would be good choices. I don't what your exposure to Buddhism has been, but if you haven't read any of the Suttas/Sutras you really should look at one or both of these. The Three Pure Land Sutras are pretty trippy, they're a waaaay different way of looking at Buddha's teachings.

I'd consider the 3 counting as one "selection" and throw in a copy of The Teachings of the Buddha, as it's a good grounding before wading into the others. I'm not concerned with getting an even, book-for-book trade.

    As for my tastes:

I haven't read any Science Fiction in a while, that would be a nice change of pace.

I know nearly nothing about the Hindu faiths, that would be good. Sikh thought is very interesting, too, the only thing I have on it is one of Yogi Bhavan's books.

Homesteading & organic gardening books and the like are always welcome.

I especially like ethnic cookbooks, they're a little window on someone else's world ... and the food is usually wonderful.

I like Albert Camus, Herman Hesse, H. H. Munro ... but I already have almost all of them, just mentioning them as it speaks to tastes.

...and ... I'm open to suggestions. I'm sure there are whole worlds of topics out there I've never touched upon.

I had a bunch of philosophy and... deep books my favorite was the Communist Manifesto and Utopia but I let a barista at a coffee shop borrow a few books and I have no idea what happened.

Anyway if any of these titles strike you as interesting ask and Ill give yo more details.
I've been looking everywhere for The Hopi Survival Kit. The only book that I think would strike any interest is "Colour Your Life" by Howard and Dorothy Sun. It's about using color preferences to reflect your holistic being. Eh... I dunno. But if you're interested at all, lemme know!
