I was wondering if anyone out there has any recipes that they use for when they go camping. I am going camping this next weekend, and we are eating a lot of fruits and veggies, granola, wraps, burritos, and sandwiches. Anyone can post their recipe (even those who eat meat
)

When I go camping I usually make foods in advance, salads, trailmix, always bring pb and j!! But this is awesome chicken if you have a grill.
firemans chicken: chicken breast, boneless or not either one is good vinager, and olive oil or cooking oil equal parts of each poultry seasoning 2-4 eggs mix well and marinate chicken kinda depends on how much chicken you are using as far as the ingredients you really cant go wrong, but it tastes just like the chicken the fire departments grill around here, I dont know if they do that all over but around here they do it all summer and its the best grilled chicken!!!

Pouch meals! Put whatever you like, that goes together, in heavy foil and fold it good and air tight. About a half hour on each side over a fire.
Put some foil on the end of sticks that are about one by one inches. Squish a canned biscuit all over the foiled part. Bake it over the fire. When it's done, take it off the stick and put jelly in the hole. Peace

We always make Campfire Cake. It's the best. Before we leave I prepare a vanilla cake batter. Just put it in a container and keep it cold until we are at the campfire. Then cut off the top of some oranges and clean it out. Kind of like you would when carving a pumpking. Then pour the batter in the orange, about three-quarters of the way full. Put the lid back on the orange and wrap it in foil. Put in the fire. They are done when you see a little bit of batter oozing out the top. Then you just get a fork and eat the cake right out of the orange. They are wonderful.
Also, chili cooked over the fire is always a hit! |
