Avoiding PFAS or Forever Chemicals When Shopping

Forever chemicals are called PFAS, which stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. These are man-made chemicals that are used in many industries because of their useful properties. They are resistant to water, heat, and oil, making them ideal for a variety of applications. Unfortunately, these same properties also mean that they don’t break down easily in the environment, hence the nickname “forever chemicals”.

PFAS have been linked to a number of health problems, including cancer, thyroid disease, and immune system problems. They are also found in the blood of people and animals all over the world. As a result, there is growing concern about the safety of PFAS.

Finding companies that guarantee no PFAS in their products can be tricky. PFAS are sometimes not listed on ingredients and can be ukryd under vague terms.
