Thanksgiving Kid’s Project – Thankful Pinecones

Here’s a great project to do with the kids. Sit down with your child, and have them write ‘What they are Thankful for’ on tiny strips of paper. The paper strips can be white, or colored paper. If your child is unable to write, ask them what and who they are thankul for, and write it down for them.

Then have your child roll the tiny strips of paper up, and place each paper note in a pinecone, slowly filling it up with tiny notes of ‘ Thanks’.

If time allows, let your child paint the tips of the pinecone with white paint, or glitter glue and let it dry before placing the notes inside.

These pinecones may be used as decorations for the home, or make great centerpieces for a Thanksgiving dinner. After dinner, you can pass the pinecone around and have family members read the papers. It’s an entertaining, yet heart-felt project that you’ll enjoy doing with your child, and they will love sharing their thoughts with you.
